What do power companies hate? It's not the "magnetic generator" scam. That makes the power companies laugh!
Power companies hate distributed generation and consumers who become energy producers in direct competition with the power companies.
The power companies have spent years teaching you how to be stupid about electricity and continue to feed at their money-making trough. The for-profit power companies need to maintain their monopolies on large-scale, centralized generation and an ever expanding network of high-voltage, long distance transmission lines to deliver their product to you.
However, a sea change is taking place that has the power companies scared silly. Consumers are investing in their own generators, and becoming direct competitors by deploying their own small-scale renewable systems, such as solar, wind, or geothermal. Consumers are also becoming more energy efficient by replacing old power-guzzling appliances and lighting with newer, more efficient, options. This is the only real way to "cut your electric bill in half." A diagram for a 1950s science fair experiment to build your own generator using magnets isn't going to help you. You have to help yourself by becoming an educated and proactive energy producer.
